The best things in life come when you least expect them.

 

Running away from all my troubles isn’t the mature thing to do, and I don’t care. I’ve always done what’s expected of me, but this time my parents have gone too far. Besides, isn’t getting fired from your job the perfect excuse to visit your brother?

 

I can’t say I had any expectations for this trip, but constantly running into the hot small-town cop wouldn’t have been on the list. Nor would the one-night stand and subsequent secret relationship. Especially when I still have to deal with everything I ran away from back home. 

 

My life may be a mess, but it’s also full of unexpected possibilities. Ones I have to admit make things far more interesting.
